![]() come and take our order, then we took a look around and realized they only had ONE waitress for SIX tables! She was running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to take orders, serve food, drinks, clean off dishes, refill drinks, etc. They were waaay understaffed, had to wait 30 minutes to be seated - with screaming kids, a kissy-faced horny couple, and then finally got a seat. We went here to grab a bite on a Friday night. While we believe this to be an anomaly, if this had been a 1st experience with Black Bear Diners we like would not have gone to another. The Tri-tip appeared to have been properly prepared and then "hot skilleted" to warm it for serving. The green beans were WAY over cooked, unseasoned, served in a bowl of hot water with a few bits of boiled bacon in the bowl. ![]() It may as well have been green bean soup with bacon. TH\he potatoes & gravy were prepared nicely and had good flavor. While flavorful, it was so over fried it was difficult to cut and bite into. My main dish was the small portion Chicken Fried Steak. This made the salad soggy & diluted the dressing so badly it wouldn't stick to the lettuce. It was so WET I could have poured the water off my plate. We arrived for a late lunch/early dinner. Unfortunately, things could easily have been remedied. Where things fell short was in the food itself. The host nice & seated us promptly, the server was patient, I recieved a call from my doctor which delayed our ordering, and got our orders correct. Don't get me wrong, versus other chain eateries this location as a cut above but, compared to BBD standards this. I've visited Black Bear Diner's (BBD) up and down the Sate but I am sorry to say this was the worst experience I've ever had.
